Daily Schedule 2026

Tuesday, January 6: The Housemaid 6:50pm, Auditorium 12, Seat B14. The theater was packed on the first Tuesday night of the year. My front row was completely full. The movie was alright. I definitely thought there were opportunities it could have been surprisingly dark. Instead, it was predictable. And yes, it was a little dark, but when it is predictably dark, then it is not really dark. I gave it 3 out of 5 on Letterboxd. Not my favorite Sydney Sweeney movie, but not a terrible way to kick off the 2026 schedule.

Friday, January 9: Friday night dinner at Olive Garden in West Omaha. Had my usual, spaghetti with the five cheese marinara. A+ service from Daniela. Full video here.

Saturday, January 17: Morning basketball at the H&K building on campus. Lunch at Romeo's on 90th street. Good service from Allison. Full video here.

Friday, January 30: Shelter 7:40pm, Auditorium 12, Seat C14. I was always going to enjoy this Jason Statham movie, but I left the theater surprisingly impressed with my final opinion of it. Obviously an action movie throughout, but the glue of the film is the relationship between the old man and the young girl. It has The Professional vibes, but much more subtle! I assumed the subtleness of the vibes was due to an eventual reveal that the girl was his daughter the whole time. I was wrong. And the ending was very good. It could have been 3.5 out of 5, but with a strong finish, I gave it 4.5 out of 5 on Letterboxd.

Friday, February 13: Crime 101 6:30pm, Auditorium 8, Seat B12. I liked it. It was a crime/law enforcement intertwined story -- perhaps like The Departed. What makes it work, or not work, depending on your tastes, is that all of the characters are essentially good except Barry Keoghan's character. In particular, Chris Hemsworth plays the socially awkward but scrupulous master thief. For most people, it might be hard to imagine the socially awkward heartthrob... but for me -- it seems to make all the sense in the world. Without that subplot, I definitely would not have given this film a 4 out of 5 on Letterboxd, but I felt it added a lot to my investment in the characters I otherwise would not be as invested in.

Saturday, February 14: We went out for a late Valentine's Day night romantic dinner at Jim and Jennies. It might not appear to be that romantic, just me and my camera, but just watch the video and imagine yourself sitting in the booth with me. I thought it was a lovely Valentine's Day night. Full video here.

Friday, March 13: Reminders of Him 9:50pm, Auditorium 8, Seat A12. Honestly, it was everything I wanted it to be. Maika Monroe (It Follows) was great -- I was hooked from her opening scene jean shorts. Put it up there with any Nicholas Sparks romance film, I gave it 5 stars out of 5 on Letterboxd.

Saturday, March 28: Project Hail Mary 8:20pm, Auditorium 16, Seat A12. It was good. I was worried it was going to be one of those overhyped science fiction movies, but it wasn't. It was like The Martian, popularly well-received because it was just good. 4.5 out of 5 on Letterboxd. (The Martian 5 out of 5, for reference.)
